She engages in lengthy and pointless debates, some spanning several months and addressing decades old vendettas and perceived slights.

Do not, however, be deceived. The fact that she can type fast does not substitute for actual experience. Neither Monica Pignotti nor her somewhat less prolific colleague, Jean Mercer, has the clinical background (seeing and treating patients) needed to make therapeutic evaluations.

If you consider what they have to say at all, please keep that in mind.

Monica Pignotti may or may not be the author of this website, but there is no doubt whatsoever that she joined in “excoriating” WordPress when the “childtorture” blog mentioned in the screenshot was suspended, suggesting, without much if any doubt, that she endorsed some if not all of its content and that the opposed WordPress’ decision to suspend it.

In addition, there is no doubt that she has not only supported this blog, which is operated anonymously (but believed to be operated by the same person who had the “wayward radish” blog on LiveJournal, also now suspended) but which is almost certainly closely affiliated with a website operated by Larry Sarner and Linda Rosa. Pignotti, incidentally, appears to have been an integral part of their efforts until the end of 2010, when she announced, without further elaboration, that she had parted company with them.

Names of several therapists have been redacted from this screenshot. As can be seen, these therapists are accused of various things:

1) Being “abusers” (note that none of the therapists whose names have been redacted have criminal records or even any substantiated allegations of abuse).

2) Being (somehow) responsible for the improper suspension of the “childtorture” blog.

3) Operating a long list of blogs, all apparently full of defamatory criticism of Monica Pignotti and her associates.

If Monica Pignotti were really to be the “Ralph Nader of Psychotherapy” (as she has claimed to be on a Russian adoption listserv), she would know that the course of prudence is to distance oneself from such ridiculous things as quickly as possible.

An allegation of abuse is probably the worst that can be leveled at a therapist. Here, several therapists are accused of abuse, and the accusations appear to be completely false.

It would seem that Monica Pignotti gained nothing by joining in this poorly conceived criticism. It may, however, cost her dearly. Anyone examining her objectivity and motivations may well question her support for these allegations, especially when even a cursory check of various criminal and regulatory databases shows them to be utterly baseless.
